Novel study relating to theme of Writing Freedom: Words that Shaped a Nation; Writing skills: persuasive vs. analytical writing and using verbal/participial phrases

Students will apply writing process to develop/compose persuasive essay based on quickwrites written throughout the unit (students will choose one quickwrite response from unit and expand to multi-paragraph essay); analyze anchor papers and evaluate own writing using rubric, with emphasis on composing domain
