Students complete the multiple choice unit assessment on the Industrial Revolution and the Gilded Age. Students explain how US foreign policy shifted in the early 20th century, with emphasis on expansion into Latin America (i.e., Spanish American War, Panama Canal), into Asia/ the Pacific (i.e., the Philippines, Guam, Open Door Policy), and the Roosevelt Corollary. Students evaluate why the US became involved in WWI, with emphasis on isolationism, German submarine warfare, and the role of Woodrow Wilson during and after the war (i.e., Fourteen Points and the League of Nations). |
