Explain why meiosis is important for sexual reproduction; compare the process of mitosis and meiosis and determine which conditions are necessary for each process to occur.
Make and defend a claim based on evidence from scientific literature that inheritable genetic variations may result from new genetic combinations through meiosis, viable errors occurring during replication, and environmental factors.
