Students should be able to explain and illustrate how convection currents distribute thermal energy in the atmosphere/oceans, and explain the role of radiation, conduction, and convection in the distribution of Earth's energy through the atmosphere.
Model and identify energy transformations from the sun to Earth's energy sources; create/interpret a model/diagram of an energy transformation; describe the energy transformations in the burning of fossil fuels.
Investigate how light energy can be transformed into other forms of energy (mechanical, chemical, and electrical).
