Students should be asking questions that can be investigated; making predictions based on observations and prior experiences.
Students should be classifying and comparing materials as liquids, solids, and gases.
Students should be communicating observations and data using simple graphs, drawings, numbers, speech, and/or writing.
Students should be communicating observations of the transformation of matter fro none phase to another.
Students should be describing the characteristics of a solid, liquid, and gas.
Students should be identifying phases of water and the uses of water in its various phases in the home and at school.
Students should be investigating the effect of heat on the state of matter (i.e., ice to liquid water and liquid water to water vapor).
Students should be making simple conclusions based on data or observations.
Students should be predicting changes in phases when water is heated or cooled.
Students should be using models to demonstrate simple phenomena and natural processes.
Students should be with guidance, planning and conducting simple investigations to produce data.
