Students should locate and explain reasons and evidence used by authors to support particular points in a nonfiction text.
Students should use context clues to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words,, or which of multiple meanings is being used.
Students should make inferences and compare/contrast information between multiple nonfiction texts.
Students should begin creating a multimedia presentation through prewriting strategies, such as examining a mentor text, brainstorming, and organizing ideas.
