School Year:2024-2025

Students should be able to categorize responses as daily, seasonal, or long term, and construct scientific explanations based on evidence to explain the benefit of daily/seasonal/long term responses to survival.
Predict the effect of large scale changes on ecosystems and communities and analyze data to determine the effect of catastrophic events on a community.
Compare natural selection/extinction; explain how mutations differ from adaptations; and construct an evidence based explanation about how variations in a population increase some individuals probability of surviving/reproducing in an environment.
Students should be able to interpret data from simulations that demonstrate natural selection; and explain the relationship among mutations, variations in traits in a population, and natural selection.
