Students should be able to differentiate among a scientific hypothesis/theory/law; identify the three components of the cell theory; and provide examples to illustrate how the development of cell theory illustrates the nature of science.
Students should be able to identify and relate cellular organelles with the life processes they perform within a living cell. (Cell membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus, cell wall, vacuole, mitochondrion, endoplasmic reticulum, and chloroplast)
Students should be able to compare plant/animal cells and their parts, using microscopes/microscopic images, and explore differences in the structure/function of animal/plant cells.
