Students should be able to categorize responses as daily, seasonal, or long-term.
Students should be able to classify as long-term, short-term, or seasonal the various types of changes that occur over time in ecosystems, communities, populations, and organisms.
Students should be able to construct a scientific explanation based on evidence to explain the benefit(s) of daily, seasonal, and/or long-term responses of organisms to their enhanced survival.
Students should be able to predict the effect of changes to living and/or nonliving factors on the size and distribution of populations in an ecosystem.
Students should be able to argue, citing evidence, that changes to physical or biological components of an ecosystem affect populations.
Students should be able to compare the factors that increase or decrease population size.
