Students should be able to interpret a simple groundwater diagram showing the zone of aeration, the zone of saturation, the water table, and an aquifer.
Students should be able to examine the presence of groundwater in various types of rock terrains, including areas found in each of the physiographic/geologic provinces of Virginia.
Students should be able to gather and synthesize information about groundwater issues and describe potential consequences, including short- and long-term availability of the resource.
