Students should be able to create a 3-D scale model of Earth and the orbiting moon and explain the progression of moon phases; relate the moon's orbit and tilt to type and frequency of eclipses.
Create a model showing position of Earth, moon, and sun, during a solar/lunar eclipses; explain why solar/lunar eclipses do not occur each month; and read/interpret maps using latitude/longitude to locate landmarks and geographic features.
